Creative Director
Master tailor Nobuo Ohmameuda was working
in one of Tokyo’s most esteemed Italian-style ateliers
when a friend brought an unusual request:
could he create a doctor’s coat that felt like a fine suit jacket?
The answer became Classico.
As chief designer, he creates every article of clothing we offer,
refining each design until he achieves harmony.
As master tailor, he cuts the fabric for everything we make,
and oversees production to make sure every step
is finished using traditional tailoring techniques.
We’ve mentioned the story of the doctor and the tailor.
Arata is the mutual friend who introduced them,
and started our business with the result.
A veteran of several internet startups,
Arata had plenty of experience spotting customer needs that weren’t being met,
and creating companies to offer a solution.
Arata’s mission is Classico’s mission: to create coats,
scrubs and other items that offer great design to doctors who demand it.
